Schools are a good setting to promote healthy eating habits and physical exercise because children spend around 8 hours there on a weekday. Schools sponsor sport teams and they provide P.E. (physical education) or gym class. School could provide healthy lunch options and have days devoted to physical exercise like Field Day.

How schools stress the important of health?

  • Put healthy tips around the school

  • Participate in regular gym class

  • Have classes talk about healthy eating and physical exercise

  • Provide equipment during recess like soccer balls, basketballs, hula hoops, jump ropes)

  • Sponsor healthy kids clubs
