National Childhood Obesity Month

Things you could do today to bring more awareness:

  • Talk about the issue on social media

  • Host an active community event

  • Become a partner of We Can!

    • Ways to Enhance Children's Activity & Nutrition​

  • Educate your family members with young kids

They first mention why childhood is a big deal. They use statistics to show the world of how much of an epidemic it is. 1 out of 3 children in the U.S. are obese or overweight. The reasons why it matters is that obesity could lead to type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease. 

During the month of September, organizations make awareness to Childhood Obesity. 

During the month of September, schools, healthcare providers, and health departments come together to bring more awareness of the issue.
